Nelson Quay, Milford Haven Marina.

Designing on this  site within the historic context of Milfor Haven and the Docks posed an interesting challenge for Project Architect Kevin Thompson. On the one hand the buildings clearly needed to respect the historic setting: on the other, the Developer, the Docks Company and the people of Milford Haven need contemporary buildings that help generate wealth, growth and new employment possibilities.

The solution adopted was to design modern buildings that nevertheless reflect local historic architectural features and materials. At the same time, the massing of the buildings and the fenestration echo Nineteenth Century dockside warehouse forms from the heyday of the industrial revolution.
